About the department (KMP)
The Department of International Law is factually divided into two sections that teach public international law and private international law. Historically it is worth mentioning that the first head of the Department of International law at the time when the ZCU Faculty of Law was founded, was Prof. doc. JUDr. Balaš, CSc. (former Minister of Education of the Czech Republic) and the Department was occupied by such personalities as Prof. JUDr. Vladimír Kopal, DrSc., prof. JUDr. Zdeněk Kučera, DrSc. and prof. JUDr. Monika Pauknerová, DrSc. All of the abovementioned were and are a globally renowned personalities with exquisite reputation in the field of international law- be it of a private or public nature. Currently is the Department of International Law composed of recognized experts, both in the field of public, same as private international law. This is naturally projected in the methods of lecturing at the Department not only for the Public and Private international Law as the core subjects, but also in the lecturing of the optional subjects offered by the Department. Members of the department publish the results of their scientific work in domestic same as foreign professional periodicals and participate in international conferences on topics of international law. The goal of the department's lecturing is to arouse interest among law students for international legal disciplines and to pass on the experience of the Members of the Department to the students.
