State rigorous exam
The state rigorosum exam, which includes the defense of a rigorosum thesis, verifies whether a graduate of the Master's study program in the field of "Law" who has obtained the academic title of "Master" has deepened the theoretical knowledge acquired through university studies and acquired the ability to work independently in research (including working with foreign literature) and use the acquired knowledge in practice. At the same time, the must demonstrate that they have mastered the research methodology.
The Faculty of Law conducts rigorosum proceedings in the following fields:

- Criminal Law
- Administrative law

- Public and private international law
- Constitutional law
- European Union law
After successful completion of the state rigirosum exam, the dean submits a proposal to the rector for the award of the academic title "Doctor of Law" (abbreviated as "JUDr." and placed before the name) and for the issuance of a diploma. The diploma is usually presented to successful graduates at ta graduation ceremony.
