Civil Law

Private law including civil, commercial, labour and related procedural law

What we deal with - profile

Members of the team are continuously involved in project activities, whether in the form of internal grants and projects (focused, for example, on selected private law institutes in theory and application practice) or external projects, such as international projects of Czech-Bavarian cooperation or projects supported by the International Visegrad Fund. Contract research projects are also continuously being dealt with, whose clients include, for example, the Notary Chamber of the Czech Republic, the Chamber of Executors of the Czech Republic or the Chamber of Tax Advisors of the Czech Republic, as well as various law firms and other private sector entities. The team members also participate extensively - depending on their sub-specialisations - with their own lectures at domestic and foreign scientific conferences. Publication in the form of commentaries, monographs, journals and textbooks is a matter of course. Depending on the nature and focus of the specific research task, internal PhD students of the Theoretical Legal Sciences study programme are often involved in research activities in addition to the researchers themselves. Cooperation with domestic research institutes (especially the relevant partner departments at the Faculty of Law of the Charles University in Prague and the Faculty of Law of the Masaryk University) and foreign institutes, especially Slovak, Polish, German and Hungarian ones, is maintained and deepened.

What we offer

In addition to standard academic work in the broad field of private law, the team is able to conduct legal analysis in all major segments of private law.
